Gethin's comments:

Regarding Monsoon. I note that running Pardiso with be difficult, as they only supply x86 compiled libraries (incompatible with the Power6 processors) and that a hostname is required by the license (incompatible with a cluster).

We may be able to compile PetSC, but it will be harder than on, say bluecrystal--e.g. special, potentially locally mofified, wrappers are required to compile on a Power6 bluegene. I've emailed Rod Smyth to ask if he has any advice for compiling on MONSooN (and indeed whether he might consider installing it centrally).

I see that CHOMBO has been compiled for an AIX machine (as stated on their website), but again I don't know how much of a challenge this was.
